Roof cleaning:
Will cleaning the roof damage the shingles? Only if improperly cleaned. Some companies offer to pressure wash your roof. This is VERY damaging to the shingles of your roof. In contrast, we never touch your roof with a pressure washer. We ensure that we will clean your roof in a way that does not remove the granules of your roof shingles.
How often should my roof be treated for moss? After moss has been completely removed, we recommend treating your roof annually. This does not mean that you will need to pay for a complete roof cleaning every year. Instead, we recommend hiring a professional to apply zinc sulfate powder to your roof ridges. This will ensure that moss will not have an opportunity to grow again. This is an inexpensive option for you that will help prevent the need for regular roof cleanings. Call us for an estimate.
How does moss affect my roof? Moss can be very destructive for your roof. It eats away at the shingles, while at the same time, moss lifts up your shingles to allow water to run underneath. In this environment mold can prosper and your roof will begin to rot. This also means water leaking into your attic space or interior home.
Gutter cleaning:
Why do I need to clean my gutters? Dirty gutters are not able to carry out the function they were designed to do. What is that? To keep water from draining into your foundation, your landscaping, or leaking into your attic or basement. Water runs down off the roof, and if let go with no gutters, will cause mold issues somewhere in your home. So gutters are very important to protect your home, but they are only useful if they are clean. This way, the water can flow down the downspouts where it drains to a location away from your foundation.
How often should I clean my gutters? It really depends on the surroundings of your house. Generally, twice a year is recommended . If you have many trees or even one large tree that is in close proximity to your home, it is highly recommended that you have your gutters cleaned three times a year.
How do I know that my gutters need cleaning? First off, if your gutters are overflowing, they need to be cleaned immediately. But often, you may not notice that your gutters are full till the first large rain of the season. Your gutters do not need to be overflowing to stop working properly. If your house is under a tree, and you notice it beginning to lose it’s leaves or needles, it’s probably a good time to have your gutters cleaned.
Why are my gutters overflowing? The main reason is that your downspout is clogged. Perhaps the width of your gutters is too small, allowing water draining from the roof to overpass the gutter directly onto the ground. We would be happy to assess the problem for free and give you an estimate for unclogging an above-ground downspout.
How long will my gutter cleaning take? Factors like the size of your home, the width of the gutters, the amount of debris can vary the time it will take to complete your gutter cleaning. In most cases, it will take us 45 minutes to 2 hours. Rarely, if you have a very large house, it may take even 3 hours. We take a little extra time to make sure that all gutters and downspouts are rinsed out and that the grounds around your house are cleaned up as well.
Window Cleaning:
Do you clean both exterior and interior windows? Absolutely! For interiors, we make sure to not walk in with dirty shoes, and we will not make a mess. If we move any furniture, we will put it right back where we found it.
How often should I clean my windows? For interior and exteriors, twice a year is usually sufficient. However, if you live in an area with a lot of dust, it may be good to have them cleaned three times a year.
Do you clean skylights? Yes we do, interior and exterior. Depending on the height of your interior skylights, we may not be able to reach them all. If we are not able to reach your interior skylights, we can refer you to a wonderful company who can.
Pressure washing:
Do you pressure wash roofs? Never! This is extremely damaging to them, and we will never touch your roof with high pressure. We primarily only use pressure washers on driveways and walkways.
What about siding? We do not use high pressure to clean siding. However, we are very happy to clean your siding with a soft wash. This chemical process will leave your siding cleaner than it would with pressure washing.
How often should I have my surfaces pressure washed? Because dirt, moss and grime can collect on your driveway, it is generally recommended to have your driveway pressure washed once a year by a professional. This ensures your safety, so you do not slip on the slick surface. Since pressure washers can also cause damage, it is best to let a professional pressure wash for you in order to preserve the integrity of the cement.

How does weather affect my service? Of course, severe weathers conditions, such as high winds and lightning, make it impossible for us to complete our work safely. What other conditions can affect the work?
Heat. For exterior window cleaning, excessive heat can cause the cleaning solution to evaporate before we can squeegee it off. This means we can’t do a quality job. In Oregon, cancelling for this reason will be rare.
Snow and Ice. All of our services are threatened by freezing temperatures. We are not able to walk on your roof if frozen, and driveways will not clean properly, even causing more ice. For this reason, if freezing weather is in the weather report, we may call you to postpone and reschedule your job as soon as possible!
Rain. We live in Oregon. We love the rain because it keeps our state beautiful! We can complete most jobs in the rain. However, at times, heavy rains will prevent us from completing work. Exterior windows, for example, will need to be postponed. If your roof is very steep, rain will make it too slippery for us to stand on safely. If we need to postpone, we will call to reschedule as soon as we possibly can.
